InkBoard

Introduction

InkBoard is a network-sharing Tablet PC sketching application. It is targeted for design teams interacting with each other using real-time ink strokes. InkBoard is experimental software still in development. The download you find here is a beta version. Please use it at your own discretion. It is provided with NO GUARANTEE and NO LIABILITY. Please see the following License Agreement for details.

InkBoard is developed by Dr. Hai Ning from Intelligent Engineering Systems Lab at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. All rights are reserved by MIT.

InkBoard is part of RobotWorld, an I-Campus project.

Version 1.1 Improvements

  • Remoting is used in place of the direct socket calls.
  • InkBoard Server now runs as a Windows Services as oppose to console application.
  • Audio/Video conference module is removed since it creates more setup trouble than its worth.
  • Toolbar icons improved (still miles away from commercial quality though).

Features

  • Real-time ink strokes shared across the network (LAN as well as WAN).
  • Central server collects all strokes from peers for easy storage and retrieval.
  • InkBoard server supports multiple groups of peers simultaneously.
  • Time-stamped strokes for sequential replay of the ink when opened from a server or a local file.
  • Zoom, pan, and move time marker on Time Line for to-the-second display of the drawing.
  • Import images and send them to peers in real-time.
  • Save/open drawings on local hard drive.
